Linn Frisinger, Founder & CEO
The issue of sustainability and all its varying interpretations and applications has been one of the fashion world’s buzziest trend-words of late—not to mention one of its most controversial. How does an industry that thrives on consumption and the neverending cycle of the newest, hottest trends reconcile with the ever-urgent call to reduce, reuse, recyle, and produce mindfully? Let’s just say it’s an ongoing work in progress.
But when it comes to sustainable foundations, Swedish Stockings set out with that agenda from the get-go. Founded in 2013 by Linn Frisinger and Nadja Forsberg as the world’s first sustainable hosiery brand, the mission is to source recycled and all-natural fibers to create hosiery that’s made to last. Now in its second decade, the company’s really hit its stride, so to speak, not only with collections (designed in Sweden and produced in Italy) that are as chic as they are mindfully-made, but also expanded availabilty around the globe, and a recycling club that regenerates discarded tights into entirely new products—even tables.
Below are some of Margot’s current favorites for the next season and beyond.
