Mariana Velásquez

More is more — and the table is where it starts.

Growing up Colombian, the table was never just a place to eat — it was where everything happened. The Casa Velásquez aesthetic reflects that: bold colors, layered textures, flowers, pattern. Maximalism as a love language.

Before Casa Velásquez, I was working as…
A chef and food stylist — building other people’s visual worlds and eventually realizing I had my own to create.

Where is the product made?
Bogota, Colombia

Do you have a favorite item from the Casa Velásquez collection?
Velvet placemats. I use them every day and they can be washed at home.

If your brand were a song. What would it be?
Lazy Nina by Greg Phillinganes. Delicious, makes me dance every time.

What are you most proud of to date regarding Casa Velásquez?
The recent collaboration with Sur La Table. Seeing my aesthetic — the lips, florals, octagonal shapes, colors — land on shelves nationwide felt like proof that maximalism has a real audience.

Define success for you personally and your brand?
Personally, it’s creating work that feels unmistakably mine. For the brand, it’s when someone sets a table with Casa Velásquez pieces and feels empowered to go bigger, bolder, more like themselves.

I hope Casa Velásquez inspires people to host with more intention and joy. I want people to stop waiting for a reason to make it beautiful. The food can be simple. The table doesn’t have to be.

Are there future goals or next steps you want to achieve?
Expanding the tabletop collection, continuing to create around the world of Revel, and building Casa Velásquez into a full lifestyle brand — objects, interiors, experiences, all of it.

Thank You Mariana.
