"After years of sharing recipes on The Defined Dish, I noticed a gap in the market for flavorful, better-for-you condiments and dressings. I wanted to create something that could make home cooking easier without compromising on taste or ingredients—something I would actually use in my own kitchen. That's how SideDish was born: to help home cooks add bold flavor to everyday meals with clean, trustworthy staples."
What's the story behind your brand name and the inspiration behind your brand's aesthetic?
The name SideDish felt like a fun, natural extension of The Defined Dish—a nod to both our culinary roots and our mission to make every part of the plate exciting. The aesthetic is inspired by the energy of the modern kitchen: approachable, unfussy, and full of flavor. We wanted our branding to feel vibrant and confident, just like the product inside. The arches, specifically, are inspired by one of our favorite Texas-based artists (and friends), Matt Kleberg. We have a piece in our house that has 4 orange arches, and we love the simple yet eye-catching beauty of them.
Before The Defined Dish, I was working as...
While pregnant with my first daughter, I got my real estate license and started working for my parents' family office, something I assumed I'd do most of my life. But mostly, I was home caring for my own family as a mom with a serious passion for cooking. I started sharing what I was making for my family, and it snowballed into a career I could have never imagined.
What impact do you hope to have on the food industry?
I hope SideDish helps shift the standard of what packaged food can be. You can have convenience without cutting corners. We want to raise the bar and prove that real, recognizable ingredients and big flavors can live in the same bottle.

If your brand were a song. What would it be?
"Good as Hell" by Lizzo. Fun, empowering, and makes you feel like you can take on the world—or at least dinner.
What are you most proud of regarding The Defined Dish and SideDish?
Honestly, the community. From bestselling cookbooks to people tagging us as their go-to dressing brand—it means the world. And creating a brand from scratch with my husband and growing team has been such a rewarding challenge.

What future goals do you hope to achieve with SideDish?
We're just getting started. I'd love to expand into new product categories that align with our mission—still focused on convenience, bold flavor, and clean ingredients. We're also working to increase accessibility so more families can find SideDish at their local grocery store.
Do you have a favorite SideDish?
I hate picking a "favorite child," however, my personal favorite will always be Creamy Sesame. I use it weekly on bowls. I will cook up salmon or chicken, saute up some veggies, and serve it all over rice with a drizzle of Creamy Sesame. Think of it as a peanut-free peanut dressing. It's YUMMY. As a family, we run through Classic Ranch very quickly (my kiddos' favorite), and I am also obsessed with the Greek Vinaigrette for quick and easy lunch wraps and salads!
